Licences
The data comes from several sources, each with its own licence. The Kanarche code is free software.
The public API at /api/v1 serves the same data as the map. Each source keeps its own licence. If you reuse the data, credit each source as listed below. The data comes as it is, with no warranty, as set out in the Terms of use.
Data
- sensor.community: Readings from the sensor.community citizen sensors. Licence: ODbL 1.0.
- ИАОС / EEA: Official readings from the Executive Environment Agency (ИАОС), published through the European Environment Agency. Licence: ИАОС/EEA terms of use.
- Open-Meteo: Wind forecast, resampled by Kanarche. Pollen forecast (CAMS European ensemble), aggregated per area by Kanarche. Licence: CC BY 4.0.
- European Environment Agency (EEA): Bathing water quality: annual classification and sample results under the Bathing Water Directive. Licence: CC BY 4.0.
- Bathing Water Directive - Status of bathing water, 2025 v.1.0. European Environment Agency. CC BY 4.0.
- Regional health inspectorates (RHI) Varna, Burgas and Dobrich: Bathing water lab samples for E. coli and intestinal enterococci, read from the public result files of each RHI. Kanarche is not an official source. The official results are on the RHI sites. The data shown here, derived from these files, is shared under CC BY 4.0. Each value names the RHI of its region as the source. We read the values from PDF and XLS files and normalise them. Remarks are not shown. Files that fail our checks are held for manual review.
