Privacy

In short, what happens to your data when you open Kanarche.

Requests and IP addresses

We keep no IP address or identifier: none in logs, none in the database. Your IP is used for a moment in memory to limit abusive traffic, then forgotten. Cloudflare, our network provider, sees it too and gives us only daily totals.

Where the map starts

The approximate starting view comes from Cloudflare's location headers and is used for one lookup, never stored. The button that finds your position asks your browser. The position stays in the browser.

Third-party requests

The map background is loaded straight from tile.openstreetmap.org at every zoom level, including over Bulgaria. OpenStreetMap's servers therefore receive your IP address, your browser details and the part of the map you are viewing, under their own privacy policy. The site loads no ads, tracking scripts or external fonts. OpenStreetMap privacy policy.

Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies.

It keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device. The site keeps no copy.
